Grab your binoculars and field guide and take a short walk to the Booterstown Marsh. Located just a short walk from Maldron Hotel Merrion Road and is a popular birding site in Blackrock. The Marsh has an environment and heritage significance in the Dublin Bay area including an important feeding and roosting area for ducks, geese and waders. As part of the Dublin Bay area, Booterstown Marsh is an essential refuelling and resting spot for migrating birds and provides three main habitats ranging from freshwater to saltwater (Moorhen, Reed Bunting, Sedge Warbler, Teal, Snipe, Lapwing, Oystercatcher, Redshank, Dunlin, and Brent Geese).

Sandymount Strand

Grab your bucket and spade and take a trip to Sandymount strand which is right on our doorstep. Part of the Dublin Coastal Trail, Sandymount strand is the perfect beach to take a stroll along its 3 km coastline boasts magnificent views of Dublin Bay and Poolbeg Lighthouse.

Dalkey

A heritage town of Dublin, Dalkey is located only 20 minutes from Maldron Hotel Merrion Road. Home of some of Irelands most famous celebrities including Bono and Maeve Binchy, Dalkey is a picturesque town. For the performance lovers catch a show at The Pavilion Theatre offering a number of performances covering all aspects of theatre, cinema, dance, music, opera.

Aviva Stadium

RDS

The Royal Dublin Society (RDS) is located just 8 minutes driving from The Maldron Hotel Merrion Road. Established in 1879, The RDS is one of the most historical venues in Ireland boasting over 22000 sq meters of event space on a 42-acre site. The venue plays host to a large number of sporting events, conferences and trade shows.

One of the most popular events held in the RDS is The Dublin Horse Show which takes place from the 17th to the 21st of August 2022. The event welcomes over 100000 thousand people from all over the world. The Maldron Hotel is ideal for relaxing and unwinding after a busy day of equestrian activities at The Dublin Horse Show.

Blackrock Village Shopping

The Blackrock Village Centre is just a five-minute drive from Maldron Hotel Merrion Road and is located in the heart of Blackrock Village. Both shopping centres include a range of boutique and retail stores for all those looking to shop till they drop.

The Blackrock Market is one of Dublin’s oldest markets established in 1986. This is a great place to pick up a bargain as the market hosts over 30 stalls selling a range of products including antiques, bric-a-brac, electronics, home furnishing and a taster of local cuisine.

The Blackrock Market is open every Saturday and Sunday / Bank Holidays from 11.00 am to 5.30 pm.
